ABOUT US

Welcome to CARE Women's Clinic

Our multi-disciplinary team, our research and individualised treatment plans devised with your input, ensure that CARE Women's Clinic consistently achieves world-class success rates. However, not everyone that undergoes fertility treatment has a positive result. It is important for you to know that we are there to support and help you, no matter what the outcome of your tests and treatment.

Medicinal

Embryo Freezing is usually carried out when couples have had a cycle of IVF or ICSI with the frozen embryo transfer and also have excess embryos that are of suitable quality. These embryos can be thawed and transferred into the uterus in the future, avoiding the need to stimulate the ovaries again. It is important to understand that not all of the embryos will survive the embryo freezing and thawing process. The survival rate of freezing embryos is strongly linked to the quality of the original embryo. Some people will have excess good quality embryos following an IVF or ICSI treatment and these can be frozen and stored for future transfer.

Medicinal

Retrieving sperm so it can be used for an ICSI cycle or frozen for use at a later date. How Sperm Extraction Works This is a surgical procedure that removes small portions of testicular tissue under local anaesthetic and sedation. Who Needs Sperm Extraction? We use it when men are found to have azoospermia (no sperm in the ejaculate). This can be as a result of a blockage, or absence of the vas deferens (tubes which transport semen) or possible testicular failure.

Medicinal

This is the most basic treatment for infertility. May be tried in couples where no obvious cause of infertility has been discovered from the tests i.e. normal tubal patency, follicular development, and endometrial development, this procedure may include using a urine surge test kit to determine the time of ovulation upon which the couple is instructed on when to have intercourse, this is done to ensure that the sperm is in the fallopian tube at the time the egg is released and begins to travel down the tube. A more advanced form of this treatment may include a monitoring ultrasound to determine follicular development and the development of the uterine endometrium (lining). A trigger shot of human Chorionic Gonadotropin (hCG) can be given to induce ovulation and set up the timing for intercourse.

Medicinal

It is useful for a selected group of women:
Women over 38years old, who wish to use their own eggs for assisted conception.
Women who have experienced recurrent failure of embryo implantation. (3 or more embryo transfers without a pregnancy)
Women with elevated hormone (FSH).
Those using cryopreserved embryos.
